Now, if you ask me, what I want for Easter is chocolate. Chocolate eggs all the way! But Hubs likes to have decorated hard-boiled eggs, and Boo likes to decorate them. So this is what we did yesterday.
There are lots of fancy ways to decorate eggs, and many kits available to buy. But we’re pretty low key. The basic dyed egg just requires warm water, a few drops of food colouring, and a splash of white vinegar to set the dye. Hard boil the eggs, let them cool completely, and then dunk them in a bath of water, food colouring, vinegar. We left ours in for almost an hour, but 20-30 minutes is usually fine. If you want to get a little fancier, you can draw on the eggs with a white crayon before you dye them. The dye won’t take where the wax from the crayon is. leaving behind your design.
Not fancy, but we had a fun time.
